Lindsey Sensors Now Offer 0.5% Voltage Accuracy

May 14, 2017: A mainstay with utilities for twenty years, Lindsey’s line of medium voltage sensors provide exceptionally reliable and highly accurate voltage and current monitoring for substation, overhead, pad-mount and submersible underground distribution applications. Lindsey has recently upgraded all of its overhead and underground voltage sensors to 0.5% accuracy. This is an improvement from the 1% voltage accuracy which was standard to the products since their introduction over thirty years ago.

Volt-var optimization and conservation voltage reduction programs – often referred to as VVO and CVR – improve grid efficiency, reduce demand, and can play a role in self-healing grids,” says Dr. Keith Lindsey “By improving our voltage sensor accuracy to 0.5%, Lindsey gives utilities even better visibility into grid operations and the ability to maximize the benefits from their VVO/CVR investments.”

For overhead applications, sensors are offered as both stand-alone voltage sensors, and combined voltage and current sensors.
