Lindsey Manufacturing Company, Azusa, California, is extremely pleased to announce Hydro Quebec, has chosen the Lindsey SMARTLINE® Dynamic Line Rating System to be deployed on one of their 735 kV transmission lines, utilizing quad bundle, 1351 kcmil (1.38”) ACSR conductors. Hydro Quebec is the utility which provides the generation, transmission and distribution of electricity in Quebec, Canada.

SMARTLINE systems incorporating Lindsey’s certified corona free TLM™ conductor monitors, will attach to the energized line and stream conductor behavior data via Iridium satellite to the SMARTLINE reliability-based line capacity forecast software.

The dynamic line rating system will provide 48-hour, 24-hour, and one-hour look ahead reliability-based transmission line capacity forecasts to the Hydro Quebec systems operator.
