Increase from 1% Accuracy Ideal for Volt/VAR Optimization Projects
January 31, 2017, Azusa, CA – Lindsey Manufacturing Company announces its line of overhead and underground voltage sensors have been upgraded to 0.5% accuracy. This is an improvement from the 1% voltage accuracy standard to the products since their introduction over twenty years ago. For overhead applications, sensors are offered as both stand-alone voltage sensors, and combined voltage and current sensors.
“Volt-var optimization and conservation voltage reduction programs, often referred to as VVO and CVR, improve grid efficiency, reduce demand, and can play a role in self-healing grids,” says Dr. Keith Lindsey of Lindsey Manufacturing. “By improving our voltage sensor accuracy to 0.5%, Lindsey gives utilities even better visibility into grid operations and the ability to maximize the benefits from their VVO/CVR investments.”
A mainstay with utilities for twenty years, Lindsey sensors provide exceptionally reliable and highly accurate voltage and current monitoring for substation, overhead, pad-mount and submersible underground distribution applications. With a variety of sensors providing zero phase shift, wide frequency response and superb harmonic performance, Lindsey sensors have been widely deployed for Volt/VAR control, monitoring, and other distribution automation applications.
About Lindsey Manufacturing Co.
Celebrating its 70th anniversary in 2017, Lindsey provides technically-innovative, cost-saving products to the global electric utility industry. Lindsey is the industry leader in Transmission Emergency Restoration System structures (ERS) which have helped major utilities around the world restore their grids in times of crisis. Lindsey’s transmission capacity forecasting and next generation dynamic line rating solution, SMARTLINE, uniquely provides utilities with both real-time and forecast transmission line capacity ratings compliant with thermal and electrical clearance requirements. A market leader in sensor products, Lindsey produces high accuracy distribution class current and voltage sensors which are integral to many utility’s “Smart Grid” implementations, and the TLM monitor, which captures transmission line conductor behavior data. Lindsey Extra High Voltage line hardware is recognized as the most reliable and innovative in the industry.
